SI Riverside – October Meeting

At their October meeting, members of Soroptimist International of Riverside heard from guest speaker Jenny Lalor from Girl Guides Western Australia. Jenny spoke about the history of Girl Guides, the activities Girl Guides partake in, and the similarities between Soroptimism and being a Girl Guide. Her talk was very interesting and many members were fondly recalling their own experience of Girl Guides. At the conclusion of Jenny’s talk members were inspired to donate $85 on the spot to pay for a Girl Guide to attend the Centenary Camp. Members also bought an entire carton of Girl Guide fundraising biscuits – delicious! New members Julie Branch and Pat Thorn were also inducted into the club and officially welcomed into Soroptimist International. Welcome!
