23rd Annual Silent Domestic Violence Memorial March 2013

Friday, November 22, marked the 23rd Annual Silent Domestic Violence Memorial March which took place at Stirling Gardens in Perth when community members gathered to honour and remember the murder victims who have lost their lives as a result of domesitc and family violence.

Soroptimist International WA was represented by Helena, Fremantle, Riverside, South Perth, Karratha and Carnarvon members who distributed information bags and morning tea for all to share.

Verity James spoke emotionally of the commitment to raise awareness and reflect on violence issues. Key representatives from Government, the Womens Council of WA and the Indigenous community and relatives of victims spoke passionately about the need for change.
