SI Joondalup – Melbourne Cup Fundraiser

For the past 5 years Wendy Wheildon’s beautiful home in Sorrento has been the venue for a fundraiser for Wheelchair for Kids on the day that stops a nation, Melbourne cup day.
Wendy persuaded SI Joondalup members to help her with this event and each year it proves to be a very happy occasion with lots of lovely food, wine, sweeps, good company and TVs to watch the great race.
Over fifty people, beautifully attired, attended and enjoyed another fun filled relaxing day.
Prizes were handed out to winners for the various categories of dress that was set by President Kate.
Proceeds from the day netted over a $1000 and this will enable quite a number of wheelchairs to be constructed.
