Membership
Soroptimists are women who have accepted the challenge of change as part of a global network of friendship and support. It is about women working together for others and themselves.
As with most service clubs, membership is by invitation to ensure that the membership of individual clubs represents a wide range of occupations and interests. Enquiries are welcome from women in professions and management, small business owners, those recently retired, or from women who have a desire to work for others.
Soroptimist International is non-party political and non-sectarian.
What does it take to become a Soroptimist? Commitment, enthusiasm, tolerance - decision-making skills, a sense of humour, planning/organisational skills, tenacity but most of all, a desire to work with other women to make the world a better place.
Women bring a particular dimension to solving some of the problems that exist around the world.
